Mustard Oil and Omega 3

Omega3 Fatty Acids are commonly linked to all kinds of health benefits, including reduced triglycerides, lower blood pressure, reducing effects of diabetes and glaucoma, and so much more.   Recent studies have cautioned people that consuming high levels of fish oil in order to gain the benefits of Omega 3 Fatty Acids can be problematic.  The great news is that there are other ways to get the positive effects of Omega 3s!

Did you know that mustard seeds and mustard oil have high contents of this positive compound?  It’s true! Mustard oil, often used in cooking Indian food, actually contains 12% Omega 3 acids.  Compare this to a traditional olive oil which has less than 1% of these acids, and you begin to see how cooking in mustard oil can help your heart!
