Headed to a friend’s house to ring in the New Year?  Take along some of these zippy appetizers and you’ll be the hit of the party!

Boetje’s Pepper Poppers
1 dozen jalapeno peppers
1 pound sausage
8 oz cream cheese
2 Tbs Boetje’s Mustard
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese

Slice peppers in half and remove seeds with a spoon.  (Remember, when handling jalapenos, wash your hands after touching the peppers, especially the seeds, and before touching your face!)

Brown sausage in pan and then combine with cream cheese, mustard, and 1/4 cup of the parmesan.

Spoon mixture into peppers.  Cover with the remaining cheese.

Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until bubbly.

Boetje’s Kielbasa Bites
2 pounds kielbasa (Polish sausage) cut into half inch pieces
18 fluid ounces beer
18 ounces (1 bottle) barbecue sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup Boetje’s Mustard

Combine beer, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and Boetje’s Mustard in a large skillet over medium heat.  Bring to boil, stirring occasionally.

Reduce heat to low and add the kielbasa.

Simmer until kielbasa is browned and glazed, about 1 hour.

Boetje’s Prosciutto & Parmesan Pinwheels
5 ounces prosciutto, thinly sliced
1 package (17.5 ounces) frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
5 ounces of parmesan cheese, thinly sliced  (Grated cheese would also work.)
2 tsp Boetje’s Mustard

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Prepare a baking sheet with non-stick spray.

Roll the thawed pastry onto a flat surface.  Spread Boetje’s Mustard to taste.

Cover pastry with a layer of prosciutto, then cheese.

Beginning at the long side, roll up the sheet of pastry into a long tube shape.

Cut into 1 inch sections and place on baking sheet.  Bake for 10-12 minutes, until pinwheels are golden brown.
